Lazy Eye & Squint Assessment
When both eyes work well together, vision feels more natural and comfortable.
Our Lazy Eye (Amblyopia) & Squint (Strabismus) Assessment evaluates visual development, eye alignment and binocular vision to identify problems that may affect how the eyes work together. Early assessment is particularly important in children, as timely management can support better visual development.
What We Assess
| Visual Acuity | Measures how clearly each eye can see, helping us identify differences in vision between the two eyes. |
| Eye Alignment | Assesses whether the eyes are properly aligned and identifies possible squint or eye-turning patterns. |
| Binocular Vision | Evaluates how effectively both eyes work together, including coordination and depth perception. |
| Prescription & Focusing | Checks for refractive errors and focusing problems that may contribute to reduced vision or poor eye coordination. |
Who Should Consider This Assessment?
- Eye(s) appear to turn in, out, up or down
- Frequently closing or covering one eye
- Head tilting or unusual head posture when looking at objects
- Difficulty with reading, focusing, depth perception or eye coordination
- Children with suspected lazy eye, squint or unequal vision between the eyes
More Than Just an Eye Turn
Amblyopia and strabismus can affect more than the appearance of the eyes. Depending on the findings, management may include prescription glasses, amblyopia treatment, visual therapy, regular monitoring or referral to an ophthalmologist when further medical or surgical evaluation is required.
