Vision & Eyewear Troubleshooting

Still not seeing or feeling comfortable after getting new glasses or contact lenses?

Our Vision & Eyewear Troubleshooting service helps identify the cause of ongoing problems such as blurred vision, headaches, eye strain, dizziness, poor adaptation or discomfort with glasses or contact lenses. We review your prescription, lens measurements, fitting and visual needs to determine what may be contributing to the problem and recommend the most appropriate next step.

What We Check

Prescription Accuracy Reviews your current prescription and checks whether further refraction or adjustment may be required.
Lens Measurements Checks relevant spectacle lens measurements, positioning and alignment to ensure they match your visual requirements.
Frame & Lens Fit Assesses how your frame and lenses sit in relation to your eyes and whether fitting adjustments may improve comfort or vision.
Visual Comfort & Adaptation Evaluates symptoms such as eye strain, dizziness, distortion or difficulty adapting to a new prescription or lens design.

When Should You Consider Troubleshooting?

  • Blurred or uncomfortable vision with new glasses
  • Headaches, eye strain or dizziness after changing prescription
  • Difficulty adapting to progressive, multifocal or occupational lenses
  • Vision that feels different between the two eyes
  • Contact lenses that feel uncomfortable or do not provide stable vision
  • Glasses that seem correctly prescribed but still do not feel right

Sometimes the Prescription Is Not the Only Issue

Visual discomfort can be caused by more than the prescription itself. Lens design, optical centre positioning, frame fit, working distance, binocular vision, eye health and individual adaptation can all influence how comfortable your vision feels.

Our optometrists take the time to review these factors together rather than simply changing the prescription without identifying the likely cause.

Finding the Right Solution

Depending on the findings, the solution may involve a prescription adjustment, frame fitting, lens modification, a different lens design, contact lens reassessment or further eye examination. If an underlying eye or binocular vision problem is suspected, additional assessment or referral may be recommended.
